This 20 second video was created to drum-up interest among MRU students concerning the 2020 Sex Toy Trivia event, an online trivia night with an 80's theme and sex toy prizes.
Goal
Going digital in order to be covid-safe, Sex Toy Trivia was to be hosted online for the first time in its history. In order to support the shift and ensure a healthy attendance, a multi-media ad campaign was put together using the colours and themes of an 80's game show.
Project Statement
Working with the communications team at SAMRU I spearheded the work on the video ad, leaning heavily on the colour scheme produced by our talented graphic designer. After doing some research on the "groovy" transitions appropriate to the time period, I worked to establish timing to ensure the animation worked with the stock footage and music. Once the animation was completed, old-fashioned tv scan lines were added and it was positioned onto the stock footage.
